Vonco Products
"Crazy" Advance Flexible Packaging and Component Solutions

After viewing numerous examples of flexible liquid-tight solutions developed and manufactured by Vonco Products, customers quickly recognize that Vonco is both a packaging company and a components company. “Filling this unique space of manufacturing custom flexible packaging solutions, and custom flexible component solutions our identity. Moreover, quickly commercializing new and “crazy” custom projects on behalf of customers differentiates Vonco from industry peers," mentions Keith Smith, President, Vonco Products.

Vonco Products started as a custom equipment and packaging pioneer. Now with over sixty years of experience, equipment requests have shifted solely to customized packaging and component requests. However, that equipment design experience shapes the company’s offering of custom solutions. The company is now recognized in the medical devices, food, animal health, retail, and industrial spaces for its leak-proof, multiple compartments and shaped bags that offer features and fitments.

The unparalleled ability to customize liquid tight bags of any desired shape or fitment using both supported and unsupported films gives the company an edge over the competition. Developing shaped bags with features and fitments, especially using unsupported films, has been a shortcoming for most packaging providers. By filling this unique niche, Vonco Products is considered a strategic partner rather than a competitor in the packaging space, thanks to its ability to take on unique, and disruptive solutions, moving quickly through design, trial, and on to full commercialization.

Vonco Products' flexibility to manufacture liquid tight bags of various shapes has bridged several concerns plaguing the packaging landscape and has earned it the reputation of a 'go-to' solution provider. Meanwhile, rapidly evolving customer demands have influenced organizations to embrace flexible packaging and component options.

Those demands are often driven by several factors, such as steering ahead of the competition, brand awareness, differentiation, ensuring sustainability, and reduction of supply chain costs.

Uniquely offering a liquid-tight seal guarantee also differentiates Vonco from its customers. Smith mentions that “leak-proof seals are implied in the flexible packaging space, although never guaranteed. The production of faulty bags with leakage issues significantly dampens a customer’s brand, and in many cases, a leak can cost more than just contents of the bag, but rather the entire shipment.” Vonco’s liquid tight manufacturing process helps customers enhance their brand quality while lowering risk.

A recent company milestone was the opening of its highly sophisticated flagship facility in Trevor, Wisconsin equipped with a new 8-color press, clean manufacturing room, expanded converting capacities, and a welcoming Customer Design Center. Smith says, “customers are invited to visit with “crazy” design ideas and leave with prototypes the same day. Our goal with fast custom development is to accelerate the development path with quick prototypes, proof of concept, start-up, commercialization, and state-of-the-art scale up.”
